At the heart of every product lies the patented, tried-and-tested "2-shaft principle" of the HAMMEL shredder. Often copied but never equaled, this technology allows our machines to run extremely efficiently and without requiring extensive service or maintenance. HAMMEL Primary Shredders combine our original two-shaft design with a unique "slow speed, high torque" process that enables us to outperform all of our competitors when it comes to efficiency, throughput, and operating costs.
HAMMEL Shredders are clearly "Designed to Make You Money!"
The original HAMMEL Primary Shredders 450, 750, 850 and 950 process different kinds of material like C&D, MSW, wood and wood waste, bulky waste, white goods, etc. Even difficult materials such as root stems, railroad ties, green waste, or industrial paper rolls are no challenge. Rugged design and clear layout make the HAMMEL Primary Shredder a reliable piece of equipment.
The core components of our primary shredders are two counter-rotating shredding shafts which run at app. 28-43 rpm. This original slow running HAMMEL system offers a great number of advantages:
- High performance
- Very low noise
- Minimum dust generation
- Low wear and tear
- No projectiles
- No fire hazard
- Customized knives are welded, not screwed on
Some of the materials easily processed by a HAMMEL Primary Shredder include:
- Waste wood
- Mixed wood
- Cable drums
- Railroad ties
- Telephone poles
- Root stems
- Green waste
- Industrial waste
- Bulky furniture
- Paper/ cardboard
- Industrial paper rolls
The HAMMEL-shredder is a reliable working equipment, because of its robust and clear construction. The use of high-grade steel and the installation of quality products provide you with the well-known HAMMEL-standard. We put technical innovations directly into practice and guarantee in this way the highest quality and the latest standard.
Our primary shredders are equipped with a diesel-hydraulic drive and Caterpillar engines or with an electric-hydraulic drive. The speed control of the shafts works in three steps and depends on the load.
Customers can choose from a variation of different shaft configurations to individually adapt their HAMMEL-shredder to their special shredding needs.
We provide the right shaft for each material and end product requirement. Throughput and product end size depend on the different types of shafts. Generally, a final product size of approx. 150 mm – 400 mm can be achieved.
